ABOUT ME

I’ve always loved working with teenagers and young adults. I taught high school right out of college and then taught at the college level for a few years after I had my boys.

Fresh out of college and teaching in a high school classroom, I could see the pain in the eyes of my students who struggled to fit in, struggled to find their group of friends, or just to know what they were good at. I knew that pain personally: to say I was awkward during my teenage years is an understatement. I struggled with low self-esteem, feeling loved, not believing I was good at anything. When I looked in the mirror, I didn’t like who I saw. She was ugly. Because of my struggles, I found that I could help these beautiful young ladies.

By truly seeing them, I could call out what they didn’t yet know about themselves and set them on a more confident path of life. I loved that part of my teaching job.

When I was ready to re-enter the workforce, I knew I didn’t want to go back into teaching. A friend of mine suggested life coaching and I immediately fell in love. It was an opportunity to turn my pain to purpose. And we haven’t even gotten into the lessons I’ve learned parenting and the struggles and growth that have taken place!

My background of 10 years of teaching, raising two boys (currently 19 and 16), and becoming a certified coach have all helped me get where I am, but my life experiences - the things I’ve overcome on my own - allows me to help others.

Today’s teens are facing all of that and so much more. Mental health among our youth is an epidemic. They are stuggling and need someone who can look inside and see who they truly are, without feeling judged.

Seeing the light in their eyes as they learn to love who they truly are is pure gold.
